Changes to login and SFTP retention policies from April 16th…
To increase our customers’ data security levels even further and enhance its management in our systems, we are introducing technical changes and new policies. For more details, please read the following information.
Increased security levels when accessing our platform
Here at Contactlab, security has always been our top priority. That is why we constantly monitor reports about new vulnerabilities, then strengthen our applications’ security and encryption mechanisms as a result, and remove those considered obsolete.
We would like to inform you that, on April 16th, 2018, we are removing RSA mechanism support for the login.contactlab.it page, as well as for the EST APIs endpoint. This change will then progressively be applied to the other platform components. The most recent and strong encryption mechanisms will remain active.
What’s changing for you?
Nothing, if you access the platform using an up-to-date browser and operating system. However, if you attempt to sign in to the platform using an old OS, such as Windows XP, from April 16th, you will no longer have access. As a result, you will need to upgrade to a more recent one.
And what if you use software to exchange data through an API?
If your company uses very old encryption libraries, applications may no longer work, and you will have to ask your developer team to plan an update as soon as possible.
Shorter retention period for SFTP spaces
Some of our platform components and modules exchange data with third party systems, by placing files in SFTP spaces. E.G to import contacts from a CRM or to export email campaign opens and clicks. Those file are currently kept in our space for thirty days.
To make data management flows more efficient and secure, the maximum retention period for files in our SFTP spaces will be limited to 10 days, starting from April 16th. After that period, files will automatically be deleted.
This new policy will particularly affect:
- DataExchange
- XMLDelivery files (including logs).
- Files exported by Contactplan.
