Right to be forgotten

The Right to be forgotten (Art. 17) is the right of the Data Subject to have their personal data erased without undue delay.

Right to be forgotten in the platform

When the Data Subject exercises the right to be forgotten, the request can be fulfilled via API or manually through the UI by users with specific permissions (DPO permissions; for more information, contact Customer Support).

If the request is handled manually via the UI, platform users with specific permissions can:

  • Access the Data Subject's profile in the Customers > Customer List section.

  • Enter the DPO Area.

  • Click on Right to be forgotten to remove the user's data.

  • A confirmation message will appear to finalize the operation.

What happens in the platform when the Data Subject exercises the right?

In Customers:

  • Profile data (both event-related and demographic) is physically deleted.

In Segments/Plan:

  • Profile data (both event-related and demographic) is physically deleted;
  • Automatic removal of the recipient from previously generated mailing lists.

In Automations:

  • The contact is removed from all automations.

In Send:

  • The profile is deleted from the user database in synchronization with the node;
  • All events and associated information are deleted;
  • Automatic removal of the recipient from scheduled campaigns.
