Edit a segment
To edit a segment, select it in Segments > Segment List. It is also possible to search by segment type: simple, combined, all.
Depending on the user's configuration and permissions, various editing options are available.
If changes are not Saved upon completion, they will be lost.
Typically, it is possible to:
-
Rename a segment directly in the Name field.
-
Edit an existing segmentation rule in the Summary Panel by clicking on the Pencil icon.
-
Delete an existing segmentation rule in the Summary Panel by clicking on the Trash icon.
warningAfter deleting a rule, it cannot be restored.
infoIn the case of correlated rules, before modifying or deleting a segmentation rule, it is necessary to remove the correlation. It can be restored, either the same or differently, once the modification is complete.
-
Add a new segmentation rule by accessing the segment and selecting the type of data useful for building the new rule. Remember to insert an interaction condition with existing rules if applicable and indicated.
-
Modify the correlation condition between segmentation rules in the Summary Panel by identifying the two relevant and consecutive rules in the list and selecting the most appropriate logical operator.
-
Further refine a segment by applying a refinement query to the contacts. Click on Refine Your Selection in the Summary Panel, enter the number of contacts to refine, and specify the reference event (e.g., spending level or purchase date).
Under Limited to, select the button corresponding to the contacts to identify:
- Top: those who match the defined event the most times in the subsequent steps.
- Bottom: those who match the defined event the fewest times in the subsequent steps.
Once completed, the Result field will be automatically updated.
Editing a combined segment
Search for the segment in the Segment List by selecting Combined in the Search by type field or by clicking directly on the segment in the list. It is possible to:
- Change the name.
- Change one or more segments used to create the combined segment.
- Remove one or more segments from the combined segment.
This operation only removes the segment from the combined generation, not the segment itself.
- Add another segment.
- Modify the interaction conditions between the segments.
Once editing a combined segment is complete, click Save to apply the changes; otherwise, they will be lost.
